I’ve chosen a selection of the most popular apps and resources for Instagram, including those I use myself.
Instamate is currently the only web-based app for posting, reposting and engaging on Instagram. It’s an all in one solution for posting and scheduling posts, liking, bookmarking, finding popular and trending hashtags, and finding viral content to share Unlike other resources there’s no need to go to your phone to accept a post, it’s all automatic. ScheduGram lets you schedule Instagram posts in advance. You can schedule a single post or upload posts in bulk. From $20 a month.
Iconosquare is a, now pro only, web based, analytics and marketing tool which tracks and reports on your Instagram activities. It gives you stats on new followers and comments, most popular photos, and the best times to post. You can track competitors and the popularity of hashtags. Plans start from $49 a year and they offer a 7 day free trial.
Simply Measured offers a free, web based, comprehensive, analytics tool for accounts with under 25,000 followers. Among other things, it reports on who are your most active followers, average engagement per post, top locations and filters, keyword analysis for comments and the best time to post.
Hastagify.Me is a site that lets you search for popular hashtags and similar terms.The free area includes tools to enter a tag and find 10 all-time top tags that relate to it, the latest posts for the tag, and which influencers use it. Premium options include more advanced analytics and a new tracking function
Top-Hashtags.com – a site that includes a hashtag search function, a random hashtag generator and a tool to convert a group of text to hashtags, and view the stats of each hashtag.
Tagboard. I like this site because when you type in a hashtag you not only see the photos using it but the other tags used by each post too. Click on a photo and copy and paste them.
Rite Tag is a browser extension for Firefox and Chrome with hashtag suggestions and monitoring – $49 /year

goo.gl is Google’s official URL shortener. It also provides details on when you created a shortened URL and how many clicks they receive. Use by logging in too goo.gl or via a Chrome browser extension. Goo.glr is also available as an app for IOS devices.
TinyURL is a free service which you use on their site or by adding a browser toolbar button.
Bitly was my shortener of choice until they started adding affiliate links to monetize every link shortened. Take care if you use it with your own affiliate links.

Pixlr is a powerful fully featured web and mobile based image editing tool. It includes over 2 million combinations of free effects, overlays, and filters, including adding text.
Add Text To Images
Typorama for ipad and iphone lets you add text to images. Choose from a variety of text and font styles, filters and overlays. From within the app you can access Pixabay’s huge database of attribution free images.
Add Text and Quotes
WordSwag for iOS and Android has numerous designer built templates for adding professional looking text to images. Included are hundreds of quotes, thoughts, and jokes as well as access to around 600,000 free background images from Pixabay.
DSCO is a tool to easily create Gifs. For iOS
